Big 12 football: Kliff Kingsbury talks SEC

Kliff Kingsbury made his Big 12 Media Days debut ? well, he might have been here as a Tech quarterback back in the day ? and many of the questions the new Tech coach were about the Big 12/SEC waltz. A few examples:

* On if he?s happy to be playing against Big 12 defenses, instead of SEC defenses: ?Yeah, there?s differences in the league. But there?s so many great teams. The parity in this league, it?s exciting. Week in, week out, everyone feels like they have a chance to win. May not be like that in the other league.?

* On the mobility of expected starting quarterback Michael Brewer, who is different from past Tech QBs, considering Kingsbury coached 2012 Heisman winner Johnny Manziel last season at A&M: ?We?re big on having a QB who can extend plays. Doesn?t have to mean a lot of rushing yards. Case Keenum at Houston had great feet. We definitely want a guy who can move? and extend things.?

* On how the Big 12 can make up the difference on the SEC dominance: ?Any time you?ve won seven national championship in a row, it?s hard to dispute that. But it?s great defenses, great coaches in that league. I think it?s cyclical, in a way. The Big 12 may be making the same sort of run.?
