Good news, everyone (with a Verizon iPhone 5)! You can use Wi-Fi again. An unfortunate bug prevented many Verizon iPhone 5 models from operating on anything other than cellular data. Fortunately, Apple's found a way for you to fix the problem. Here's what you do:
- Tap Settings > General > About.
- Wait for the following alert to appear:
- Tap OK to install the update.
- Hold the Sleep/Wake button down until you see "slide to power off."
- Slide to power off.
- After the device powers off, hold the Sleep/Wake button to turn your phone back on.
You'll also need to restart your iPhone 5 in order for these changes to take effect, but your phone should be good to go after that. For more information, hit up the Apple support pages.
